Mrs. Connie Rayceine Reardon, 81, passed away November 1, 2023. She was born November 5, 1941, in North Carolina to the late Raymond Campbell Carpenter and Vertie Conra Lambert Carpenter.
Mrs. Readon was retired as a Hospice Nurse and Registered Nurse for Kings Daughters Medical Center for 20 years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Brookhaven Little Theatre. She loved traveling with Glen and entertaining friends. She also loved attending her grandson’s football games and enjoyed all her grandchildren’s activities.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Glen Reardon; son, John Raymond Reardon and her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Rachel R. Shaw and son, Glen Allen Reardon, Jr.; her twin sister Delores Desena and sister, Dawn Carpenter; six grandchildren, Rebekah Hope Iswariah, Joshua Mathewes Shaw, Sarah Shaw Wilkes, Timothy Reardon Shaw, Glen Allen Reardon III, Jack Murray Reardon and five great great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all that loved and knew her.
The funeral for Laura Jane Smalley Johnson will be Noon on Saturday, November 4, at Riverwood Family with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Ms. Johnson, 82, of Brookhaven, died October 29, 2023, at her residence. She was born October 4, 1941, to J.D. Smalley and Vivian Lucile Newsom Smalley.
She played the accordion in the high school marching band and loved to sing. Ms. Johnson attended Lee College in Cleveland, TN. She was a member of the Lee College Traveling Choir. She was the organist for her church while she was growing up.
She loved children and babysat many children from Brookhaven. She also enjoyed keeping the bed babies in church during Sunday School for 24 years at First Baptist Church, where she was a member. She was active in the nursery up until the time of her stroke in 2014. She also enjoyed raising her three children, Kendall, Kyle, and Kristin. She loved her granddaughter, Abby, and great granddaughter, Millie. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her children Kendall Johnson, Jr., Kyle Johnson, and Kristin Milholen (Mike); brother, Joel Smalley (Angela); sister, Joyce Duck (Dr. Bryan); one granddaughter, Abigail Johnson; one great granddaughter, Amelia “Millie” Johnson. She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
Services for Mrs. Kathy Theresa Ashley Mullins of Wesson are 11:00 am, Thursday November 2, 2023, at Strong Hope Baptist Church with visitation from 9:30 until the time of service. Burial at the church cemetery.
Mrs. Kathy Theresa Ashley Mullins, 65, passed away October 29, 2023.
She was born May 8, 1958, in Thibodeaux, LA.
Kathy was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. She loved working with children in cub scouts and school programs and enjoyed camping and reading books.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Wilton Ashley and Vera Jasper; sister, Judy Bailey and brother, Alex Ashley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, W.L. Mullins; and children, Scott Nelson Mullins and Ashlee Vernice Fauver.
She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

A Graveside Service for Willie Ray Jergins, Jr. will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Wellman Baptist Church Cemetery with visitation from 9:00 until the time of service at the church.
Mr. Jergins, Jr., 71, of Bogue Chitto, died October 29, 2023, at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in Humble, TX, to Willie Ray Jergins, Sr. and Martha Porter Jergins, December 25, 1951. He enjoyed making his rounds visiting family, friends, and grandkids. He truly loved his grandchildren and his faithful dog, Loretta.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Brister Jergins; his parents and his granddaughter, Hailey Jergins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Lawrance “Buddy” Jergins (Felicia), Mike Jergins (Chastity), Dwayne “Speedy” Jergins (Tonya), and Kim Jergins (Rachel); brother, Doyle Jergins; sisters, Susie Westbrook (Mitchell) and Lori Costilow (Ryan); 12 grandchildren, Breanna Wooley (Jay), Dalana Beard (Josh), Kristin Myers (Austin), Ty Jergins, Holly Hemphill (Austin), Peytin Jergins, Anna McNeese (Marc), Hannah Jergins, Ainslee “Rae Rae” Jergins, Maddie Jergins, Lynlee Jergins, Finlea Jergins; 9 great grandchildren; and other loving family members and friends, including, Butch Jergins and Timmy Russell.
The funeral service for Hardeep Singh Gill will be 3 p.m., Monday, October 30, at Riverwood Family. Visitation is from Noon until the time of the service.
Mr. Gill, 72, of Monticello, died October 26, 2023, at his residence. He was born in New Delhi, India, March 9, 1950, to Basant Singh Gill and Pritam Kaur Gill. He was a retired business owner.
For many years, Deep owned the Sonic in Monticello. He was loved by everyone that ever knew him. He was a very compassionate and caring person. He loved life and he loved his family, and a special little boy named, “Beck”. Deep was a very giving person and would do anything in his power for anyone. For years at the sonic, he had a special group of men that would meet every morning to sit out front and drink coffee known as the “Coffee Club”. Years later, you would find him at Chevron drinking coffee with friends. Deep loved cooking for his family and everyone loved it when he cooked. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harbhajan Singh Gill.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Pamela Gill; children, Gabrielle Gill, Kristen Ready (Dee), Brandy Carney (Corey), Randy Grayson (Hannah); nine grandchildren, Beckett, Caden, Claire, Callie, Macy, Rylea, Reagan, Daytin, and Adley; and one great grandchild, Kohen. Craig Clifford Morgan
Went to his heavenly home on July 1, 2023 at the age of 50. Craig was born on April 27, 1973 to Carl Richard (Dick) and Marita Morgan. He was born with profound disabilities and was loved and cared for at his home until he was an adult. He then moved to Hudspeth Reginal Center and was a resident there until his passing.
Craig was nonverbal but had a wonderful personality, and was always smiling. He never met a stranger. He loved to go on outings and went to many local festivals, sports events, and holiday programs.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, Carl Richard (Dick) Morgan; and a sister, Lori Morgan Young.
He is survived by his mother, Marita Morgan; a niece, Morgan Young Hogue; a nephew, Austin Young.
Graveside memorial service will be November 4th at 10:00 am in Riverwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Brookhaven, Mississippi.
Marita Rae Morgan
Went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 30, 2023, at age 83 after an extended illness. Marita was born January 20, 1940 in Carl Junction, Missouri to the late Clifford and Rachel (Jester) Rife. She graduated from Richmond, Indiana High School, Class of 1958 and attended Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Illinois.
On December 18, 1967, Marita married the love of her life Carl R. (Dick) Morgan, who predeceased her in 2019 after 52 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Morgan Young; a son, Craig Clifford Morgan; a sister, Martha Ann Phillips; and a brother, Clifford Graham Rife Jr.
She was a homemaker and an avid seamstress who loved her sewing/craft room where she worked on quilts, alterations, and home décor projects. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Madison, Ms. she was a member of the choir and made costumes for their productions.
Marita is survived by her two beloved grandchildren, Austin Young and Morgan Hogue (Jeremy); two sisters, Sue Chandler (Steve), Marjorie Friel; and a brother, James M. Rife (Kimiko).
Graveside memorial service will be November 4th at 10:00 am in Riverwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Brookhaven, Mississippi.
The funeral service for Clarence “Harold” Lewis will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, at Riverwood Family, with burial in Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, at Riverwood Family.
Mr. Lewis, 76, of Brookhaven, died October 23, 2023, at St. Dominic Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born in Brookhaven, February 25, 1947, to Troy W. Lewis and Leta Rae Franklin Lewis. He worked in the logging industry for many years.
Mr. Lewis was a man of integrity and leaves a legacy of faith for those who come behind him. He was a generous man, sharing anything he may grow in his garden with those around him. He was one to make friends easily and treasured every friend he made. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as planting his garden. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John “Dub” Lewis, Roy Lewis, Tommy Lewis; sisters, Geneva Lewis, Ann Foster; and brothers-in-law, Kenneth Coke, Shelton Wilkinson, and Charlie Delaune.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Peggy Boswell Lewis; brother, Troy E. Lewis and his wife, Charlene “Tuti”; and his sisters, Margie Coke and Reba Wilkinson. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held for Clifton Edward Brown, Thursday, October 26th, from 5-8 p.m., at Riverwood Family.
“Brown Boy”, as he was affectionately called, died October 22, 2023, at his residence in Brookhaven. He was born August 9, 1957, to Joseph Edward Brown and Edith Lynelle Dawson Brown Wills. He was 66 years of age.
He was an oilfield worker for many years. He was a member of A.B.A.T.E, A.P.A Pool League, and Homochitto River Rat. “Brown Boy” was a true “Harley Davidson” fan and loved everything associated with Harley Davidson & Hot Rods. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry Dale Wills and Jamie Wills; and his nephew, Michael “Jody” Butler.
He is survived by his son, Blake Edward Brown and wife, Baily; sisters, Debbie L. Fuller, Judy G. Gibson, and Veda J. Leary; two grandchildren, Bryson E. Brown and Blakely N. Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryson Brown, Gage Butler, Gladen Butler, Justin Case, Brandon Anding, Ray Bob Lambert, Mark Covington, Daniel Lofton, Randy Watts, Ethan Lofton, and Dwayne Anding.
Graveside service for Ms. Merle Allen Smith will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Nathan Case will officiate. Pallbearers will be Layke Smith, Kyle Moak, Toby Ashley, Justin Cline, Daniel Allen, and Rusty Cline.
Ms. Smith, 73, of Brookhaven, died October 20, 2023, at her residence. She was born September 19, 1950, to Versie Allen and Dora Mae Russell Allen. She retired from AT&T after 31 years of service. She was known to everyone in Brookhaven as “the Telephone Lady”.
Merle enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune and football. She was secretary of CWA for many years. She was a loving mom and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Ms. Smith is preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Pat Redd and Faye Case.
She is survived by her daughter, Leanne Smith; brother, Ray Allen (Janice); sister, Vicki Trotti (Danny); grandchildren, Layke Smith (Brandi) and Kaycee Brooke Thomas (Damion); and five great grandchildren, Tyler Pack, Maddi Smith, Scylar Smith, Addison Ratcliff, and London Ratcliff. She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
