Jon Malcolm "Johnny" Parkman

Graveside service for Jon Malcolm “Johnny” Parkman will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in Rosehill Cemetery.

Mr. Parkman, 83, of Bogue Chitto, passed from this life September 23, 2022, at his home in Bogue Chitto. He was born in Brookhaven, MS May 8, 1939, to Malcolm Alious “Si” Parkman and Canary Furr Parkman. He owned and operated Brookhaven Auto Parts in Brookhaven.

Mr. Parkman was an avid outdoorsman. His favorite hobby was hunting arrowheads. “I just want to go arrowhead hunting” was one of Johnny’s favorite sayings. He was an amateur archaeologist with lots of artifacts. He also enjoyed deer and turkey hunting as well as looking for new places to search out arrowheads. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be greatly missed by his family and all who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Debbie Parkman; children John Andrew “Jodie” Parkman (Jane) and Jeff Parkman (Leah); sister, Carolyn C. Parkman of Sarasota, FL; three grandchildren, Brandon, Bailey, and Rivers; and four great grandchildren, Jaycee, Charlie Ann, Brianna Lee, and Dorian; and very special friend, Paulette Benfield. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Adam Stanton King

Services for Adam Stanton King of Brookhaven are 2:30 pm Friday, September 23, 2022, at Riverwood Family with visitation from 12:30 until the time of service. There will be a private interment at Riverwood Memorial Park.


Adam Stanton King, 42, passed away, September 21, 2022. He was born July 11, 1980, to Royce Stanton and Cindy Laird King. He was a sales manager at Stan King GM Super Store. Adam enjoyed traveling, hunting and golf.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Royce and Marie King.

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, Stan and Cindy King; children, William King (Jaci), Price King (Tori) and Thomas King; his brother, Paxton King (Erin) and sister, Anna Smith (Chad); grandparents, Sam and Sue Laird. He is also survived by his girlfriend Amanda Hodges, and nieces Ella Smith, Lily Smith, Camille King and nephew, Royce King and special buddy, Reid Hodges.

He will be missed by all that loved him.

Phillip Craven Fairchild

Funeral service for Phillip Craven Fairchild will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, at Riverwood Family, with interment in the Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Monday, September 26, at Riverwood.

Mr. Fairchild, 65, of Sontag, passed from this life and entered eternity, surrounded by his family, September 20, 2022, in Brookhaven, MS. He was born in Natchez, MS, July 2, 1957, to Willie Craven “Bill” Fairchild and Agnes Watts Fairchild. He was the most loving husband, dad, and “Pappie” anyone could ask for. His heart was filled with kindness and generosity, he was particularly crazy about his wife, children, and grandchildren and would go to the end of the world to see that they were loved and cared for. He was a wonderful conversationalist and would enjoy time spent sitting and sharing a cup of coffee with anyone who needed to talk. Mr. Fairchild was patient and selfless, he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gregory Dale Fairchild, Michael Wayne Fairchild; and his sister, Terri Nan Fairchild and great niece, Hannah McCallum.

Those who are left behind to cherish every memory are, his wife of 29 years, Marie Fairchild; children, Christopher Dickerson (Heather), Cody Dickerson, and Kayla Johnson (Chris); sister, Karen Smith (Joe); eight grandchildren, Emma Dickerson, Aly Dickerson, Lillie Dickerson, Bayleigh Dickerson, Alyssa Dickerson, Tucker Dickerson, Sadie Johnson, and Benton Johnson; nephews, B.J. Ainsworth and Willie Ainsworth; niece, Kristi Ainsworth; three great nephews and four great nieces, as well as other loving family members and friends.

Elaine Hilton Goodson

Funeral service for Mrs. Elaine Hilton Goodson will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at New Hope Baptist Church in Meadville, MS, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Friday, September 23, at New Hope and will resume Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Goodson, 84, of Meadville, passed from this life Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in St. Dominics Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born in Lincoln County, MS, August 6, 1938, to Darsie Lee Hilton and Jessie Lee Boyte Hilton. She was the Chief Financial Officer for Franklin County School District for many years. Mrs. Goodson was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and served in the Women’s Mission organization as well as being the church treasurer. She was also in the Woman’s Club. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was blessed to have seen not only great grandchildren but to welcome one great, great grandchild. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, June Swinney; and her son-in-law, Lynn Wactor.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Walter Philip Goodson; children, Debra Lane Wactor, Denver Philip Goodson (Hattie), and Mary Beth Goodson; sisters, Carol Cothern and Barbara Graves; five grandchildren, Ashley Yelverton (Lee), Melissa Morris (Seth), Hunter Hornbeak (Erin), Stacy Coker (Lewis), and Amy Peterson (Timmy); six great grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Timothy Dan "Smoke" Weeks

Arrangements are being provided by Riverwood Funeral Service in Brookhaven.
 Visitation will be Wednesday, September 21 from 5pm-8pm at Riverwood Family. Visitation and Service is Thursday, September 22 at Riverwood Family at 10am with service at 11am. Burial will be at Sylvarena Baptist Church Cemetery in Wesson.

 Timothy Dan (Smoke) Weeks, age 60, passed away at Claiborne County Medical Center on Monday, September 19, 2022. Tim was born November 6, 1961, to Dan P. and Ann Slay Weeks in Hazlehurst, MS at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital. He graduated from Wesson High School in Wesson, MS. He was a member of Union Hall Baptist Church in Brookhaven. Tim was employed with Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 619.
Together with his mother and father, Tim owned Weeks Dairy Farm in Wesson for over 32 years. His successful Holstein herd was one of the top milk producers in the state at that time. He went to school to craft his talent and was successful with embryo transfers to further develop their herd. Mr. Dan had several "boys" that helped out on the farm and developed long lasting friendships with the family.
Tim had a sweet spirit with a commanding presence. He had an infectious laugh and loved to pull pranks and pick on everyone in his path. His sense of humor was memorable. The kindness he extended to others made lasting impressions. Tim was devoted to all that he cherished, especially his family. He loved his family, and he loved the Lord. He was special to all who loved him. He will forever be missed.
 He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, of Brookhaven; children, Erin Keller and husband Ken; Joshua Milholen; grandchild, Preston Keller; beloved mother, Ann Slay Weeks, of Wesson, MS; siblings, Beverly Weeks Tarver of Wesson, MS, Judy Weeks Wilson and husband Roger of Brookhaven; nieces and nephews, Carrie Northam (Adam), Jim Tarver (Ashley) from Wesson, Bradley Weeks (Mindy) and Patrica Wells (Jason) all of Baton Rouge; Joshua Wilson of Hattiesburg; Jake Wilson (Raven) of Oakman, Ala. and Elizabeth McDaniel (John) of Brookhaven; sisters-in-Law Sheila Forrest (Danny); Stacy Montgomery (Mike), Sheila Delaughter; and brothers-in-law Steve Delaughter (Sarah), Ricky Delaughter (Angie), Charles Riddle of Denham Springs and Corkey Mazer of Brookhaven; great nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan P. Weeks, his brother Jeff Weeks, and great-nephews Abraham Northam and Aran Northam.
Pallbearers are Cliff Newman, Timothy Bergeron, Jim Tarver, Lewis Mazer, Austin Montgomery and Ky Lowery.
Honorary Pallbearers are Roger Burns, Steve Payton, Dale Lowery, Danny Lowery, Mitch Berch, Roy Roberts, Mike Lewis, Joe Lewis and Claude Lowery.

Janet Lynn Murray

Funeral service for Janet Lynn Murray will be 11 a.m., Friday, September 23, at Riverwood Family, with burial in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, September 22, at Riverwood, and will resume Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Murray, 72, of Loyd Star, passed from this life, September 20, 2022, in Ridgeland, MS. She was born in Brookhaven, MS, April 11, 1950, to Nelson Case and Melanie Wilson Case. Janet was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the grandchildren play sports. She was also a golf enthusiast. Janet lived life to the fullest and was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Murray; her parents; and one granddaughter, Brittany Gill.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her children, Johnny Fielder (Lisa), Cameron Fielder (Rhonda), Misty Smith (Stephen), Autumn Nelson McDonald; brothers, Jerry Case, Donald Case (Pam), Woody Case; sister, Lola Case; eight grandchildren, Brent Fielder, Kylar Fielder, Austin Smith, Linley Smith, Collin Smith, Alex McDonald, Layne McDonald, and Jessica Morris. Kennedy Dwayne Roberts

Funeral service for Kennedy Dwayne Roberts will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, at Riverwood Family with interment in Gum Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, at Riverwood Family.

Mr. Roberts, 25, of Brookhaven, passed from this life September 17, 2022. He was born September 6, 1997, to Shannon Dwight Roberts and the late Sarah Elizabeth Walters Roberts. He was a Supervisor at Sanderson Farms and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his mother and uncle, Justin Lee Rippy.

He is survived by his father; sister, Katelyn Roberts Emfinger and husband Blake; nieces, Meredith Blake Emfinger and soon to arrive, Margaret Elizabeth Emfinger; paternal grandparents, Roger and Diane Roberts and maternal grandparents, Larry and Debbie Walters; aunts and uncles, Mike and Tara Roberts, David and Tina Roberts, Wayne and Christi Givens, Kim Rippy, and Ginny Berry, David and Kendal Walters, and Hank and Allyn Walters. He is also survived by a host of cousins and other loving family members and friends.

Nathan Wayne Mason

Graveside Services for Mr. Nathan Wayne Mason, of Bogue Chitto are 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with visitation from 9:00 until time of the service at Enon Baptist Church.

Mr. Nathan Wayne Mason, 33, passed away September 17, 2022, at Kings Daughters Medical Center.

He was born on January 18, 1989, in McComb, MS.

Preceding him in death were his father, David Mason, maternal grandmother, Vera Mason and grandfather, Hershel Mason.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 13 years, Kim Mason; his mother, Kim Taylor Thompson; children, David Mason, Jason Mason, Kara Mason, and Conner Mason.

He is also survived by his brother, Clifton Mason and wife, Julianne and sister, Tara Campbell and husband, Scott; and a host of nieces and nephews and many great friends and family. Nate was a hard worker and was loved by all.

He will be missed by all that loved him.

Kevin Bales

Funeral service for Kevin “Honey” Bales will be 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Riverwood Family, with burial in Twin Oaks Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 p.m., Monday evening, September 19, at Riverwood.

Mr. Bales, 60, of Bogue Chitto, passed from this life September 16, 2022, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born May 21, 1962, to Clifton E. Bales, Sr. and Helen Kathryn Reid Bales. He was a man with a big heart. He loved his family, his friends, and his dogs. Kevin was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sitting on the porch watching all the activity of nature in his back yard. He also loved the Lord and leaned on Jesus every day. You never knew if he was having a bad day because he always greeted you with a smile and a hug. His love was unconditional, his acceptance unquestioned. Kevin took everyone as they were, and he loved them well.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marriah; siblings, Melissa Boyd, Grub and Vivienne Bales; and George Hughes; and his parents-in-love, Richard Miller and Gerald and Glenda Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda “Tiny” Bales; son, Tobby Bales; grandchildren, Amber, Payton, Mason, and Emily; great granddaughter, Riley; siblings, Melinda Hughes, Bruce Bales (Donna), and Billy Boyd; mother-in-love, Sue Miller; and in-laws, James Miller, Timmy Miller (Darlene), Wendell Miller (Cindy), and Angie Miller. He is also survived by an abundance of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews as well as other loving family members and friends.

Thomas Talmage Lutz

Thomas Talmage Lutz, 91, passed away September 14, 2022. He was born in Fayette MS, January 27, 1931.

Mr. Lutz served his country in the United States Air Force in the Korean War. He was retired with Corps of Engineers after 33 years of service. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. He always had a garden and believed in keeping busy. He was instrumental in instilling morals, values, and love for the Lord into his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved and served the Lord all his days and now he has gone home.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Cecille Lutz and by his parents, Roy and Ann Lutz.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Marlyn Lutz, Marvin Lutz and Marian Lutz Spencer (Jake); brother, Bradley Lutz (Sharon), and sister, Anna Katherine Cockerham. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Meredith Spencer (Carolyn), Justin Spencer (Amanda), and Bradley Spencer. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Madison, Mallory, Lily, Jacob, Joseph, Cooper, Audrey and Payton Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baptist Children’s Village or Unity Cemetery.

 

 

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, at Unity Baptist Church starting at 11:00 with a potluck dinner to follow.  All friends and relatives are invited.
