Aubrey Allan "Butch" Nulisch

Mr. Aubrey Allan "Butch" Nulisch, 59, of Monticello passed from this life November 30, 2020, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Ms.
He was born February 22, 1961, to Walter Carl Nulisch, Jr. and Peggy Nulisch.
 
He was employed with Seadrill for many years.  He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.  He had a fond love of God and family. 
When not at work, he enjoyed camping at Lake Mary Crawford.  He never met a stranger and always greeted everyone with a smile.
 
He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Carl Nulisch, Jr.
 
He is survived by his wife, Donna Nulisch; Daughter, Brittney(Jacob) Gill; Sons, Blake Shirley and Manni (Renee) Nulisch;
Bonus Daughter, Ashly(Luke) McCloskey; 5 grandchildren and 3 bonus grandchildren; Mother, Peggy Nulisch;
Sisters, Christina(Luke) Sanders, Carla(Tim) Myers, and a host of nephews and nieces.

Dorothy Sue Laird

Services for Mrs. Dorothy Sue Laird of Bogue Chitto, are 11:00 am Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Johnson Grove Church of Christ with interment at

the church cemetery.

Visitation is Wednesday, December 2, from 4:00-7:00 pm at the church, and from 10:00 am until time of the service on Thursday.

Mrs. Dorothy Sue Laird, 78, went to be with her Lord on November 30, 2020, at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
She was born on July 6, 1942, to the late Corbett Fairman Thames and Mary Ruth Stringer Thames.

Mrs. Laird was a member of The Church of Christ at Johnson Grove.

She loved flowers, antiques, making “Honey Do” lists, being with her family and church family, and loved music, especially listening to her son Mitch sing.

Preceding her in death were her parents; parents-in-law, Versie & Allie Laird; sister, Linda Thames; daughter-in-law, Andrea Laird and brother-in-law, Gerald Anderson.

Those left to cherish are her husband of 56 years, Barto Laird, sons, Mitch and Mark Laird, daughter, Amanda Laird Jergins, brother, Gerald Thames,

and sister, Pat Thames Anderson. Along with her 5 grandchildren, Madi Laird Britt, Mason Laird, Lawrence Jergins, Ethan Jergins, and Jessie Jergins Byrd;

and 3 great-grandchildren, Zane and Aden Byrd and Sadie Kaye Britt.

Phil Keith Gatlin

The funeral service for Mr. Phil K. Gatlin will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 1 at Riverwood Family with interment at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service at Riverwood.

 

Phil K. Gatlin, of Bogue Chitto, passed away November 29, 2020, at home surrounded by family members that loved him dearly.

He was born in Bogue Chitto, Mississippi on September 6, 1947. Since returning to his childhood home a year and a half ago he

became a member at Faith Presbyterian Church in Brookhaven, MS. Phil was a born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.

He served faithfully in leadership roles for many churches. He loved the Lord and loved other people. He also loved to teach God’s Word

by leading Bible studies and teaching Sunday school classes.

 

For 30 years, Phil worked as an Aerospace Engineer at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, where he was an Associate Fellow in the Mission Analysis Group.

During his career, he traveled the world. He enjoyed sailing, making stained glass, and gourmet cooking. After retiring, he became a

Master Gardener and served as the Master Gardener President of Alabama before moving back to Mississippi.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl R. Gatlin and Willine H. Gatlin.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Nancy Gatlin; son, Christopher Gatlin, and wife, Lisa of Glasgow, KY;

daughter, Amy Watson and husband, Donnie of Southern Pines, NC; brother, Marcus E. Galtin and wife, Rachel of Bogue Chitto, MS;

sister, Jacqueline Kay Gatlin of Brookhaven, MS; he also leaves a legacy of grandchildren, seven, Robert Gatlin and wife, Elizabeth of Nashville, TN,

Audrey Dawsey and husband, Tyler of Tickfaw, LA, Reed Gatlin, Grant Gatlin, Caleb Watson, Abigail Watson, and Jesse Watson; as well as other loving family members and friends.

Helen Jordan May Henderson

Graveside Service for Mrs. Helen Jordan May Henderson, of Union Church, are 11:00 am

Monday, November 30, 2020, at Union Church Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson County

with visitation starting at the church from 10:00 until the time of the service.

Mrs. Helen Jordan May Henderson, 94, went to be with her Lord on November 28, 2020, at her home.
She was born on September 18, 1926, to the late Louis Paul Jordan and Bonnie Mae Hux Jordan.

She was a retired mail carrier and was an active member of her church and missions. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing and quilting. She loved her family and spending time with children,

grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

 

Preceding her in death were her husband, Melvin May; parents; brothers, Venable Jordan, and Travis Jordan.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Paul May, Glenn May and wife, Sally, David May and wife, Suni, Mark May, and wife,

Susan and daughter, Debbie White; sisters, Hilda Walker and Dorothy Williams. Along with 13 grandchildren, Lori Sutton,

Ashley Noland, Jordan May, Rod May, Amanda Barres, Cameron May, Matthew Tyler May, Douglas White, Barry White,

Bonnie Cain, Edward May, Michelle Hart, and Nikki Britt and, her 30 great-grandchildren.

Anita Britt Entrican

Funeral services for Anita Britt Entrican, of Brookhaven, will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial immediately following. Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, from noon until the time of the funeral.

Mrs. Entrican died Thursday at her home with her husband of 68 years by her side. She was born in Lincoln County on April 17, 1932, to Benjamin Farmer Britt and Alice Minton Britt and was their last living child of ten.

After graduating at 16 from Loyd Star High School as valedictorian, she finished commercial college and married her childhood sweetheart, Isaac “Doc” Entrican. They lived in several states and raised three children before returning to their hometown.

Retired from General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Mrs. Entrican was named “Citizen of the Year” in 1988 in Senatobia (Miss.) for volunteerism. She was a founding member of the Loyd Star Foundation. She taught preschool Sunday School for many years and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.    

Survivors are her husband, Isaac “Doc” Entrican; son Mitch Entrican and wife, Erin; son Greg Entrican and wife, Claire; daughter Kim Henderson and husband, Mark; eleven grandchildren – Abigail Entrican; Isaac Entrican; Ethan Entrican; Rebecca Entrican; Elizabeth Entrican; Miriam Entrican; Daniel Henderson and wife, Robin; Luke Henderson and wife, Mary; Susanna Dunaway and husband, Caleb; Jonah Henderson; Hannah Henderson; and nine great -grandchildren, with another due near her birthday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Johnnie Ray "Butch" Dear

Johnnie Ray “Butch” Dear, 74, of Monticello, MS, went to his heavenly

home on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, of cardiac arrest. To accommodate

out of town family, a celebration of life will be held at a later date, at

Bethel Baptist Church, in Monticello, MS.

Butch was a man of many talents. He was a wonderful son, husband, father,

grandfather, Navy Vietnam Vet, band director, church worship leader, college instructor,

and friend. He left a wonderful legacy. He was devoted to his wife, and his daughter,

that he loved with all his heart. His love for Jesus outshined them all and he is now

reunited with those Christians who have gone on before him.

He was a proud alumnus of Hazlehurst High School, Copiah Lincoln Community College,

Delta State University, and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

His parents, Ray and Kathrine Dear, of Hazlehurst, his infant daughter, Janice DeLynn Dear,

and his brother, Edwin Dear, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janice Fortenberry Dear; his daughter,

Kristi Green (Michael) of Liberty Lake, Washington; grandchildren, Mason Green,

Bryan Delzer, and Isabelle Delzer; and a host of extended family and friends.

Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 73 Bethel Road,

Monticello, MS, 39654, in his memory.

Theresa Ann Boyte Dodd

Memorial service for Mrs. Theresa Ann Boyte Dodd will be 2 p.m., Sunday,

November 29, at Wellman Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dodd, 72, of Brookhaven, passed from this life Wednesday, November 25,

at her residence. She was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana, September 29, 1948,

to her parents, Wessie Dee Boyte, Sr. and Lavada Monte Kyzar. She was married

to Donald Doyle “Donnie” Dodd and mother of two children, grandmother of

four and great grandmother of one. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Dodd; her parents;

and her sister, Tommie Elizabeth Allen.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Donnie Ray Dodd and wife,

Winter, of Magnolia, Arkansas and Angela Beall of Carlsbad, New Mexico; brothers,

Wessie D. Boyte, Jr., of Brookhaven, MS, Edwin Dale Boyte, James William Boyte,

both of Bogue Chitto, MS, and Ricky Dwayne Boyte, of Ruth, MS; sisters, Kathleen Bogard

of Pascagoula, MS, and Bontia Nell Boyte and Linda Fay Davis, both of Brookhaven,

MS; her four grandchildren, Chelsea Nieto and husband, Efrain, Chad Beall, Nicole Flores,

and Emily Ralson; and one great grandchild, Everlee Nieto.

Jeannine Touchton Smith

Mrs. Jeannine Touchton Smith, 89, of Brookhaven, went to be with her Lord on November 24, 2020 at her home.

She was born on September 27, 1931, in Harrisville, MS, to the late Harry Lester Smith and Ethel Irene Touchton.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a retired nurse.

She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Edwin E. Smith and granddaughter, Shea D. Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Blake E. Smith (Kelli) and Eric L. Smith (Myrna); daughter, Penne J. Irvin (Michael); brother, Herb Touchton and sister, Martha Ann Hutter; along with 9 grandchildren, Zachary Irvin, Brandon Smith, Shea Smith, Caitlyn Irvin, Justin Smith, Brianna Smith, Aimee Irvin, Elleana Smith and Hannah Smith, and 2 great-grandchildren, Hazel & Ezra Irvin (plus one on the way!), along with her honorary grandchildren, Tyler Coker and Jessica Davis.

Julius Wayne Rushing

Julius Wayne Rushing, 64, of Bogue Chitto, passed away November 24, 2020.

He was born on February 28, 1956, to the late Jessie James Rushing and Velma Roberts Rushing.

Mr. Rushing was retired as a nurse and he enjoyed golfing.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents, and brother, T.H. Rushing, and sisters, Vivian, Margie, and Bobbie.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, James L. Rushing and Mike Rushing, and sisters Hazel Elaine Rollins

and Maggie Dianne Rushing. He will be missed by all that loved him and knew him.

William Donald Stanley

Graveside Service for Mr. William Donald Stanley will be held on Monday, November 23, 2020, at 2 pm at Clear Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

William Donald Stanley, 61, of Raymond, passed from this life on November 20, 2020, at his home. He was born on April 8, 1959, to William David Stanley and Virginia Lee Spears Stanley.


Mr. Stanley worked for Lilly Company; a musician who loved playing guitar, practicing martial arts and working as a mechanic. His biggest accomplishment was being a great husband and father.

Preceding him in death was his parents and brother, David Stanley.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Melissa Stanley; son, Dylan Stanley; brother, Danny Stanley and sister, Darlene Portrey.
