James Zachary Jordan

Funeral service for James Zachary Jordan will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 16, at Riverwood Family, with burial in

Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Mr. Jordan, 31, of Bogue Chitto, MS, passed away November 12, 2021. He was born July 22, 1990. He was an equipment

operator in the construction industry.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Sharon Hall and her husband, Charles; paternal grandfather, James Jewell Jordan,

and step grandfather, Tony “Pop” Rando.

He is survived by his parents, Christy Rando and husband, Tony, and James J. Jordan, Jr. and wife, Dolores; daughter,

Claire ReAnn Jordan; his son, Gotham Dax Jordan and his mother, Samantha Sampson;grandparents, Robert and Nita Johnston;

brothers, Daniel Rando and wife, Melissa

and Anthony Rando; sisters, Heather White and husband, Jonathan, Lesley Brady and husband, Darren. He is also survived by

grandparents, Bobby Jordan, and Wayne Smith and wife, Judy, and by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and family friends.

Ruth Hardison

Services for Mrs. Ruth Hardison, of Monticello are 2:30 pm Monday, November 15, 2021

at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello with visitation from 12:00 until the time of service and burial at church cemetery.

Ruth Gaskins Hardison, 71, of Monticello, passed away at her home on November 12, 2021.

Ruth was born April 17, 1950, to Ronnie Gaskins and Mamie Jane Ross in Kinston, North Carolina.

Ruth was a graduate of Plymouth High School. On October 31, 1966,

Ruth met Asa Hardison at a Halloween dance at Jamesville High School.

They were married on December 29, 1970. Ruth and Asa went on to have two children,

Casey Hardison-Pevey and Jamie Hardison. Throughout her life, she was a full-time mother and wife.

Ruth was known by all as a confidant, advisor, and friend. Ruth loved music, reading, and, above all, her family.

She especially loved spending time with her two granddaughters, Sydney and Abbey Pevey.

It was a comfort knowing she was in the world. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Services for Mr. Roy Lynn “Buck” Martin are 1:00 pm, Monday, November 15, 2021

at Riverwood with visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Burial will be at East Lincoln Baptist Church Cemetery.

Roy Lynn “Buck” Martin, 57, of Ruth, passed away November 10, 2021, at his home.

He was born November 15, 1963, to the late George Smith and Annie Lambert Smith.

Roy loved spending time with family and friends doing what he loves, hunting and fishing.

He will be dearly missed by all that loved him.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his grandparents, Ida and Shine Martin;

brothers, Kim Lambert, Terry Smith and Timmy Martin, and sister, Debbie Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jacob Martin and Timothy Martin;

brothers, Orvall Martin and Tony Smith, along with five grandchildren, Malyna Martin,

Paisley Martin, Hayden Martin, Zalie Martin, and Timothy Martin. Also other family members and friends,

Honkey Hodges, Ricky Boyte, Randall Rushing, Billy Wells, The Burt Family, Harold Bradford, Julia Townsend and Drew McNeese.

Gladis Estela Del Cid

Funeral service for Mrs. Gladis Estela Del Cid will be 9 a.m., Saturday, November 20, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church

in Brookhaven, with burial in the Wesson Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m., Friday, November 19, 2021, at Riverwood Family.

Mrs. Del Cid, 55, of Wesson, MS, passed away, November 11, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Uluazapa, San Miguel, El Salvador, to

Candelario Vargas Alvarenga and Ana Julia Hernandez de Vargas. She was a Stock Clerk for Walmart. Her favorite things were gardening,

taking spontaneous trips to new places and hosting family gatherings. She enjoyed “babysitting” her grand-cat and grand-dog. She will

be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend.

Mrs. Del Cid is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Francisco Vargas and Martina Alvarenga de Vargas; maternal grandparents,

Cristobal Pineda and Vicenta Hernandez; and siblings, Rigoberto Vargas and Marta Vargas.

Those who remain and will cherish her memory are her husband, Antonio Del Cid; her parents; sons, Anthony Del Cid and Steve Del Cid; daughter,

Gladys Del Cid; brothers, J. Lino Vargas, J. Ruperto Vargas, J. Felix Vargas, Luis Arnoldo Vargas, Romeo Vargas, Omar Vargas, Noe Vargas; and sister,

Marta Lourdes Vargas. She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Berniece Dunaway Davis

A Memorial Gathering for Mrs. Berniece Dunaway Davis, of Brookhaven are 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Riverwood.

 

Mrs. Berniece Dunaway Davis, 64, passed away on November 10, 2021, at Silver Cross Nursing Home.

She was born on June 11, 1957, to the late D.W. McCullough and Charlene McCullough.

Mrs. Davis was a retired private sitter. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She will be dearly missed by all that loved her.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Jewel Lee Davis.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Davis; daughter, Christy Smith; brothers, Howard McCullough,

Jon McCullough, and Allen Dunaway; sisters, Bonnie Anding, and Rachel Rayborn;

along with three grandchildren, Jaiden Smith, Madeline Smith and Vivian Smith.

Jennifer Nations

Funeral service for Jennifer Nations will be Noon, Saturday, November 13, at Sylvarena Baptist Church in Wesson, MS,

with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Nations, 60, of Wesson, MS, passed away November 8, 2021, at UAB Transplant Center in Alabama.

She was born in Kosciusko, MS, October 3, 1961, to Robert Patrick Joiner and Hilda Adams Joiner.

She was the owner of her Hair Salon, and she was also a florist, creating

floral arrangements for numerous weddings. Jennifer was a member of Sylvarena Baptist Church.

She was an accomplished chef and also a creative soul but enjoyed the simpler things in life like going camping.

She was a selfless person and the glue that held her family

together and she will be greatly missed by all that loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Tammy Freeman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 18 years, Wilson Edward Nations;

her children, Jessica Lambert, Carmen Luke, Nick Nations, Christopher Conner, and Brendan Nations;

brothers, Tootie and Paula Joiner and Paul and Sherry Joiner; three grandchildren,

Lakenn “MawMaw’s BooBoo” Luke, Ensley “Tuddlebug” Lambert, and Hadley “MawMaw’s blue eyed girl” Luke.

She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Rose Lanelle Nations

Funeral service for Rose Lanelle Nations will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 10, at Riverwood Family, with interment in the Bethel Temple Cemetery. Visitation is from Noon until the time of service at Riverwood.

Rose Lanelle Nations of Bogue Chitto, MS went home on the morning of November 7, 2021. She was born March 18, 1944, to the late Versie Ford Nations and the late Elsie Nations Brister.

She leaves behind her sons, Terry Waldrop (Andrea) and Brad Waldrop (Casey), her daughter, Kathy Smith (Steve), her brothers, Curt Nations and Don Nations, her sisters, Sylvia Williamson and Jeanette Nations, 8 grandchildren who were her world, Kayla Burns (Todd), Dusty Smith, Matthew Waldrop (Caitlin), Michael Waldrop (Carly), Drew Waldrop (Whitney), Tanner Waldrop, Emma Waldrop and Payne Waldrop and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 14 years, Roger Dale Waldrop, her husband of 37 years, Charles E. Nations, her brothers, Loyd Nations, Leo Nations, Carroll Nations, Rex Nations and Reggie Nations, her sisters, Imogene Brister, Gerley Williamson and Jan Smith and her grandson, Hunter Waldrop, who she adored.

Brian Elliott Culpepper

Brian Elliott Culpepper, 48, passed away November 7, 2021, at his residence. He was born March 4, 1973, in New London, Connecticut. Brian enjoyed the outdoor life, hunting, fishing, and working on all kinds of things. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Brian is preceded in death by his father, Louis Edward Culpepper; grandparents, William Edward Culpepper, Sadie Jewel Culpepper, Ralph Gentile, and Lillian Gentile.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of four years, Margie Lynn Culpepper; his mother, Cheryl Ann Culpepper Hart; sons, Bailey Blaine Culpepper, Cody Brian Culpepper, Bobby Darrell Mobbs; brother, Jamie Edward Culpepper; sister, Kelli Leanne Culpepper Smith; two grandchildren, Sophia Culpepper and Serena Rose Mobbs. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Sibyl H. Barnes

Mrs. Barnes, 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, November 5, 2021. She was born in Simpson County May 14, 1931, to Victor M. Harris and Estelle Walker Harris. She was retired from the teaching profession and a member of Topeka Baptist Church. Fishing is usually considered an enjoyment for men, but Mrs. Barnes’ favorite thing to do was go fishing. She also liked gardening, shopping, and most of all, spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Alton Everett and Jack C. Barnes; and daughter, Susan Everett Vaughn.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Al Everett (Marsha) and Victor Everett (Sheri); ten grandchildren, Ryan Everett (Kaylan), Trent Everett (Rhonda), Ashlee Britt (Stuart), Cory Everett (Kacy), Lindsey Bartley (David), Austin Everett, Elizabeth Campbell, Taylor Everett (Caroleah), Emily Bryan (Corey), and Thomas Campbell. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren as well as other loving family members and friends. Also left to cherish her memory are her bonus children, Jackie, Ann, Kenny and Sondra and their spouses and families, who she loved as she loved her own.

Services for Mr. Hillary “Pete” Dixon of Brookhaven are 11:00 am, Saturday November 6, 2021, at Riverwood with

visitation from 10:00 until the time of service. With burial at New Sight Cemetery.

Mr. Hillary “Pete” Dixon, 93, passed away November 3, 2021, at his home.

He was born on December 13, 1927, to the late W.M. “Bill” Dixon and Ida Smith Dixon Emfinger.

Mr. Dixon served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired operator for Shell Oil Company. Hillary was a

member of the American Legion and a Mason. He was also a member New Sight Baptist Church and was an avid gardener.

Preceding him in death were his wives, Virginia Dixon, Merlin Porter Dixon and Hazel Dixon; daughters, Troylyn Furlow

and husband James, and Brenda Gail Dixon, siblings, Loyce Dixon Mason, Dorothy Dixon Bacle, Maida Dixon Arnold,

Ina Dixon Arnold, W.M. “Billy” Dixon, Jr., and Sidney Emfinger.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Michael. L. McDavid and wife, Becky,

daughter, Sandra McDavid Martin; brother, Kenneth Emfinger; along with five grandchildren, Misty Nabors and

husband, Ben, Dustin McDavid and wife, Laura, Kelly McCullough and husband, Mark, Michelle Furlow and Caleb McDavid

and wife, Kacie, ten great grandchildren, Noel Crittenden and husband, Josh, Joy Nabors, Isabelle Nabors, Ashton McCullough,
