It is so suddenly saddening to hear of such a long-lived friend's passing. I'd known Ward & his family and friends much of my life. Together with his brother, Phillip made for a time of my life I shall always cherish. I'd felt so very privilaged to have been around them, finding even more their inner circle of connection of such numbers of friends. It was no surprise, once knowing them more.
One great connection via Ward, was Larry Davenport. And may God rest his soul as well. Of my most formative years, playing music in public were these group of sincere troubadours, making their mark then while paving the way for others ..such as myself & I'm sure many others as well. They held the watermark on a personal level like no others.
Ward & I had been allowed to rekindle some of those earlier times back in late 2014 when Gail had been instrumental for me with a job connection that brought me back to SW Miss. For this, I shall always be grateful, thinking in large part as it being God's plan, bringing me back home.
The mold was broken with Ward, in my eyes. Let's yet hope there are more with as much soul as he.
Rest well my friend...
till we meet again.
