Edna Montgomery McCaffery

Services for Mrs. Edna Montgomery McCaffery are 1:30 pm Saturday, June 20, 2020,

at Riverwood Family with burial at Freedom Church Cemetery, formerly known as Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church.

Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the time of the service, Saturday, at Riverwood.

 

Mrs. Edna Montgomery McCaffery, 83, of Wesson, MS. went to be with her Lord on June 16, 2020, at her home. She was born on July 29, 1936.

Mrs. McCaffery was a homemaker and a member of Freedom Church.

After her morning cup of coffee, she enjoyed tending to her chickens and gardening.

She made the best blackberry and blueberry jelly. Mrs. Edna loved her family and church family and spending time with them.

 

Preceding her in death were her husband, Robert “Snow” McCaffery; sons, Robert Danny McCaffery, Dennis Ray McCaffery;

sister, Aline Montgomery; brothers, Freddie Montgomery, Gordon Montgomery, Robert Montgomery, Leroy Montgomery, Arthur Montgomery,

Joe Montgomery, Wiliam Montgomery and Ed Montgomery; granddaughters, Rhonda Michelle Rushing and Felicia Marie Franklin;

great-grandsons, Brady Delane Ford and Addison Snow Blackwell; great-granddaughter, Erica Lee Townsend and nephew, Kenneth Wayne Wallace;

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gail Thames and husband, David, Gayla Wardlaw and husband, David, Patricia Jenkins and husband, Bobby, and Blakely Lambert.

She is also survived by her brother, Bud Montgomery, and wife, Dena; sister, Julie Wallace along with 8 grandchildren, Rebecca Tyler, Carl Franklin,

Jennifer Ford, Dewayne Rushing, Robbie Blackwell, Gregory Blackwell; 23 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of and nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Bobbie Louise Harris Nevels

Bobbie Louise Harris Nevels passed away on June 14, 2020,  in her home in Brookhaven.

She was born in Calhoun County, Mississippi, moving to Brookhaven at an early age.
She was a homemaker and helped many young mothers with daycare while they worked.

She was affectionately referred to as "Aunt Bobbie" by many who loved her.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert Nevels, daughter, Beth Nevels Smith,

brother, Paul Harris and life long friend, Edith Morgan

Those left to remember her are daughter, Cathy Nevels, son in law, Oscar O. Smith Jr.,

sisters, Charlotte Lessing, Betty Jo Smith, brothers, W. F. Harris Jr., and James Harris.
Grandchildren,  Kate Smith, husband Owen, Anna Claire Smith, and Oscar O. Smith, III (Trey) and wife Nikki.
Great-grandchildren, Braydon, Britton, Eva Claire, and Buddy.

Services will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 1:00 pm at Pearlhaven Baptist Church.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

The family would like to thank caregivers from Hospice Ministries. In lieu of flowers,

Vennice Ann Landreneau

Services for Ms. Vennice Ann Landreneau of Alexandria LA is 1:00 pm Friday, June 19, 2020,

at Riverwood Family with visitation from noon until time of the service and burial at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ms. Vennice Ann Landreneau, 58, went to be with her Lord on June 14, 2020.

She was born on May 25, 1962.

Vennice was an angel from Heaven and known to all those that loved her as “Niecy”. She was a pure soul, constantly giggling and smiling and communicating through touch.

She loved babies, stuffed animals, and toys, especially when Santa came to visit. She loved her meals particularly her Mama’s banana pudding.

She will be missed by many, yet now she is forever whole and in Heaven once again with her Heavenly Father and her Daddy. Special appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses

in the Rapides Medical Center ICU and to all who cared for her daily at Pecan Grove Training Center.

Preceding her in death were her father, Joseph Lee Landreneau; paternal grandparents, Celestine Gonzales Andrus and Elie Landreneau and maternal grandparents, Roy, and Mildred Reeves.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Shirley R. Landreneau; sisters, Angelia Bercegeary and husband, Dwain, Susan Lanette Rayborn;

nieces, Sierra Ezell, Bailey Bercegeary and nephew, Michael L. Rayborn, Jr.

Clifton Edward Bales, Jr.

Funeral service for Mr. Clifton Edward Bales, Jr will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at

Bogue Chitto Baptist Church with interment at Twin Oaks Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m.,

Tuesday, June 16, at Bogue Chitto Baptist Church, and will resume at 10 a.m. on Wednesday until time of the service.

Mr. Clifton Edward Bales, Jr., affectionately known as “Grub”, 66, passed from this life June 15, 2020.

He was born August 5, 1953, to the late Clifton Edward Bales, Sr. and Helen Kathryn Reid Bales.

He was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church and was a dairy farmer by trade. Mr. Bales

was also a member of the Bogue Chitto Masonic Lodge and an active Houndsman. His favorite

pastime was visiting with his sons and grandsons. He was a great people person and would

strike up a conversation with anyone who would listen. He would discuss anything from

mules to how he loved fulfilling his duties as “Mayor” of Bogue Chitto. He will be greatly

missed by all who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Vivienne Lynn Bales; parents; and his niece, Marriah Bales Barron.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Trey Bales (Melissa) and Reid Bales; brothers,

Kevin Bales (Glenda), Bruce Bales (Donna); sisters, Melinda Bales Hughes, Melissa Bales Boyd (Billy);

two grandchildren, Slade Bales and Gunner Bales; and a host of nieces and nephews

and other loving family members and friends.

Darrell Anthony Therrell

Mr. Darrell Anthony Therrell, 56, of Brookhaven, passed away June 14, 2020, at his residence.

He was born on October 22, 1963, in Meridian, MS.

Mr. Therrell was a pipefitter and was a member of the Brookhaven MS Moose Lodge.

 

Preceding him in death were his father, George Robert “Buddy” Therrell; grandparents, Guy C. Therrell and Candice Myrle Therrell;

and aunt, Myrle Lavern “Sister” Therrell.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Mark Anthony Therrell and Joshua Allen Therrell;

daughters, Candies Sueann Whittington and Melissa Jean Davis.

He is also survived by his brother, Mark Edward Therrell, and 9 grandchildren.

Dorothy Coleman Drye Tuneburg

A Graveside Service for Mrs. Dorothy Coleman Drye Tuneburg of Columbia is 2:30 pm, Monday, June 15, 2020,

at Wesson Cemetery with visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm at Riverwood Family.

 

Mrs. Dorothy Coleman Drye Tuneburg, 85, went to be with her Lord on June 12, 2020. She was born on September 25, 1934,

to the late Sherod Coleman and Joanna Barksdale Coleman.

Mrs. Tuneburg was a member of Wesson Baptist Church. She served as church pianist and organist at many area churches through the years,

beginning at age 12 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Copiah County. She also enjoyed painting, loved to journal,

sharing her family history, and spending time visiting with her family.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Lamar Tuneburg; siblings, Sherod Henry Coleman, Truly Coleman, Jerry Wayne Coleman, and sister, Connie Kay Coleman.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Deborah Drye Brown and husband, Roy, Linda Drye Blackmon and husband, Roger,

and Millie Drye Clinton and husband, Johnny Mack. She is also survived by her brothers, Billy Coleman, and Starkey Coleman;

sister, Judy Coleman Edwards; 7 grandchildren, Dustin Brown, Cade Brown, John Blackmon, Ryan Blackmon, Lauren Clinton Gibson,

Johnathan Clinton, Jarrett Clinton, and 5 great-grandchildren.

William Ronald "Ronnie" Allbritton

Funeral service for Mr. William Ronald “Ronnie” Allbritton will be 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2020,

at Riverwood Family, with interment at Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 2 p.m. until the time of service.

Mr. Allbritton, 67, of Brookhaven, passed from this life on June 8, 2020, at King’s Daughters Medical Center.

He was born in Brookhaven on September 3, 1951, to William Archie Allbritton and Helen Juanita Allbritton.

He was a member of Ramah Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Nita Allbritton; daughter, Skye Allbritton; sisters,

Paula Albritton (Barney) and Lindy Carver; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jason Albritton, Jeremy Albritton, Logan King, and Allen Johnson.

 

The family wishes to thank Countrybrook Living Center and Hospice Compassus and staff, for their love

and compassion in his care.

Johnnie Hamilton Harvey

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Johnnie Hamilton Harvey will be held on July 18th at 1 pm at Tylertown Baptist Church.

 

Mrs. Johnnie Hamilton Harvey, 88, went to be with her Lord on June 7, 2020, at her home.

She was born on June 6, 1932, to the late Zell Hamilton and Wessie Fortenberry Hamilton.

Mrs. Hamilton was a homemaker and a member of Tylertown Baptist Church. She enjoyed wood crafting, painting,

sewing, and volunteering at her church.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents, and sister, Jerry L. Packwood.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Henry Grady Harvey, Jr.; daughter, Rhonda Lynn Harvey Weegens and husband, Mark;

3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, all residing in Arkansas.

She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

William Lee "Dub" Smith

Services for Mr. William Lee “Dub” Smith will be held on Monday, June 8, 2020, at 10:00am at Riverwood Family with interment at Wesson Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, June 8, 2020, from 9:00 till service time.

William Lee “Dub” Smith, 89, of Wesson, passed from this life on June 5, 2020, at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. He was born on March 21, 1931, to Benjamin Burnell Smith and Robin Greer Smith.

Dub served in the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Germany; after he was discharged, he then became a policeman, serving in Brookhaven and becoming the Police Chief In Wesson. He later became an X-Ray Technician working for Mississippi X-Ray and H&H X-Ray.

Preceding him in death was his parents; wife, Peggy Jo Nations Smith; sons, William Craig Smith, Benjamin Scott Smith and Christopher Lee Smith; great grandson, Rowdy Lee Smith and one sister, Dot Rollins.

Those left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Robyn Smith (Susan Archer), Daughter-in-law, Rebecca Smith, Grandchildren, Jordan Lee Smith (Laken Smith), Abbey Gayle Mahaffey (Andy Mahaffey) and one great grandchild, William Dawson Mahaffey.

Services for Mrs. Lena Case is 1:00 pm Saturday, June 6, 2020,

at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 until the time of service at Riverwood.

 

Mrs. Lena Edwards Case, 94, went to be with her Lord on June 4, 2020.

She was born on May 25, 1926, to the late George Seymour Edwards and Sudie Garner Edwards.

Mrs. Case was a homemaker and she loved gardening, especially daylilies and roses.

She will be missed by all that knew her and loved her.

 

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George Clayton Case; and brother, Richard Matthews.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her brother, Wayne Matthews, and wife, JoAnn; sisters-in-law,

Carolyn Carpenter and husband, Marvin and Shirley Lewis, along with a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
