James “Jimmy” Everett Smith

A Graveside Service for Mr. James “Jimmy” Everett Smith, of Brookhaven are 1:00 pm Thursday, June 25, 2020

at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 2:00-4:00 pm, Wednesday, June 24 at Riverwood.

Mr. James “Jimmy” Everett Smith, 76, went to be with his Lord on June 22, 2020, at Kings Daughters Medical Center.

He was born on August 16, 1943, to the late Jaudon Smith and Kathryn Smith.

 

Mr. Smith served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He worked for ICG Railroad as a Carman and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

He will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

 

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, Glenda Sue Smith; son, James Stacey Smith;

brothers, Billy Joe Smith and Hillary Dean Smith and father & mother-in-law, Lenwood E. Smith and Cora Mary Smith.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Jeff Smith and Melissa; daughter-in-law, Sandra Smith;

sisters, Mary Alice Williams, Beatrice Lambert, Agnes Allgood and 3 grandchildren,

Hannah Smith, Hollie Smith, and Heidi Smith along with a host of nieces and nephews and beloved families and friends.

    Prayers for the family. My dad (Oscar Rushing) and Mr. Jimmy were friends and worked together many years in McComb at the railroad. He was always smiling.

    Mr Jimmy was the sweetest most humble man. I enjoyed seeing him at church, and he always spoke to me. I will miss him a lot along with his wife Mrs Glenda. Prayers for his son and Sandra and the girls.
