A celebration of life will be held for Irene Laverne Freeman will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 14, at Riverwood Family, visitation begins from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
Mrs. Freeman, 78, of Terry, MS, passed away March 11, 2025, at St. Dominic’s Medical Center in Jackson, MS. She was born in Brookhaven on June 13, 1946, to Robert Lewis and Dezzie Foster Lewis. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. Mrs. Freeman was a loving and faithful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Pearlhaven Baptist Church.
Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by her husband, James Rabon Freeman; her parents; brother, Oscar Lewis and Arlist Lewis; sisters, Juanita Thornhill and Eudell Howington; grandchildren, James Anderson, Alyssah Freeman; great grandchildren, Waylon Anderson and Ella Carson.
She is survived by her children, Janice Carson (Mike), Crystal Freeman (Dacey), Kevin Freeman (Susan), Mitch Freeman (Laura), Jeff Freeman (Stephanie), and Darlene Freeman. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a host of other faith family members and friends.
