William Edward "Billy" Nash

The funeral service for Mr. William Edward “Billy” Nash, of Brookhaven, MS will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Riverwood Family, with interment in Riverwood Memorial Park. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, April 6, at Riverwood and will resume Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

 Billy Nash was born in Oneonta, Alabama, February 24, 1942, and departed this life April 1, 2023, at St. Dominics in Jackson, MS. He was 81 years of age.

Mr. Nash is well known for an outgoing personality and quick wit as well as his company, Nash Insurance Agency, in Brookhaven, MS, where he retired from after 51 years of serving the community. He loved trading cars and shopping for clothes, hats, and shoes. Mr. Nash was the loving and caring husband of his beautiful wife, Shirley, enjoying 46 years of marriage together. He was blessed to have welcomed many grandchildren and great grans into his heart and he will be greatly missed by each one who loved him.

Billy is preceded in death by his parents, James Artest and Ethyl (Teele) Nash; son, Stuart Wayman Wells; and siblings, Imogene Whitner, Virginia Globle, Doris Witt, and Jimmy Nash.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Ann Nash; his children, Amy Allman and husband, Daniel of Oneonta, AL, Pam Henley of Gadsden, AL, Lynn Butler and husband, Tim of Bogue Chitto, MS, and Georgia Wells of Kerrville, TX; 11 grandchildren, Chip Wells, Emily Smith, William Marsh, Destiny Gladden, Sara Burkett, Chance Allman, Cristian Arriaga, Ali Fauver, Lauren Arriaga, Hadley Wells Harborth, and Nash Durr; and 14 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his lunch buddy, Tom Monroe, longtime friend, Harvey Magee, Ricky and Lori Salyer, who were more like family to him and made many trips together with Billy and Shirley; and many other loving family members and friends.

Linda Wand Reynolds McRaney

The memorial service for Linda Wand Reynolds McRaney will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 8, at Shiloh Baptist Church

Mrs. McRaney, 74, of Monticello, died March 31, 2023, in Sontag, MS. She was born in Brookhaven, MS June 15, 1948, to Willie Glenn Reynolds and Ruby Thompson Reynolds. Mrs. McRaney worked in the sewing industry as a sewing machine operator and homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Shelton McRaney; her parents; daughter, Louise Barham; grandsons, Anthony Little and Blaine Reynolds; and sister, Mary Freeman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Robbie Little (Anthony), Darlene Stalans (Jack), Melinda Jackson, Beverly Bridges (Shane), Toby Reynolds, and Raymond Reynolds; brothers, Billy Reynolds, George Reynolds (Elaine), Dale Reynolds (Sally), Willie Reynolds (Frances), and Eddie Reynolds (Wanzie); and one sister, Pearl Lancaster. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Joe Glen Battard

Mr. Joe Glen Battard, 62, of Brookhaven, passed away March 31, 2023.

He was born November 24, 1960, in Wesson, MS.

Joe loved people, animals and most of all, his friends and he had lots and lots of them.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys B. Battard.

Those left to cherish his memory are his friend of 18 years, Vicki Kees (Battard) his father, Charles Battard; two stepdaughters; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a host of friends.

He will be missed by all that loved him.

Frances Elaine Addison

Service for Mrs. Frances Elaine Addison of Brookhaven, are 10:00 am, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Riverwood Family with visitation 5:00-8:00 pm Friday, March 31, at Riverwood

She will be laid to rest in Summit, MS. at Reeves Cemetery.

Frances Elaine Addison, 70, passed away March 29, 2023. She was born January 4, 1953 in Plaquemine Parish, LA. to Edwin and Frankie Montgomery. Elaine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friends to many.

She attended and is a member of Mt Moriah Baptist Church.

She worked with her parents, most of her life at their family business, Ed’s Cleaners. She left there after her parents retired. She worked at 84 Chevron for nine years, Sunflower for six years, Chula Vista Water Park, Lowes as cashier, ordering clerk and stocker. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, dogs, kids, grandchildren, and friends. She loved hunting, fishing, boating, dancing, swimming, and tubing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and her daughter, Angelia.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, her daughters, Mandy King and husband, Jim, of Huntsville, AL, Holly Ivy and husband, Shaun, of Woodville AL, and Christi Vance and husband, Will, of Brookhaven, MS, her five grandchildren, Amber Ivy, Kelly Ivy, Katie Marks and husband Jim, Conner Vance and Claudia Claire Vance; three great grandchildren, Aurora Marks, Anne Marks, and Olivia Marks; brother, Eddie Montgomery and wife, Renea; and nieces, Tiffany Smith and husband, Jason, and Trudy Strait and husband, Billy; great niece, Daria Whitehead and husband, Zack; great nephews, Caleb Leray, Clay Leray, Seth Leray Dawson Smith; sister-in-laws, Wanda Cox, Judy Whisenant and husband, Louie and Donna Sunberg and husband, Thomas; and brother-in-law, Timothy Addison and wife, Kristy. Lastly, her best friends, Robert and Cathy Grimes and furr babies Bucky and Dove.

Jack Alvin Foster

Services for Mr. Jack Alvin Foster of Brookhaven are 11:00 am, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Harmony Baptist Church with visitation from 9:00 until the time of service.

Burial will be at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Mr. Jack Alvin Foster, 77, passed away March 29, 2023 at his home.

He was born on October 4, 1946 to the late T.J. Foster and Sally Johnson Foster.

Mr. Foster served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a Project Manager and Engineer, constructing buildings and bridges. After his Military Service and College. He began his career as a ship builder with the Engalls Shipyard and then he later finished his career as a project manager engineer for numerous large construction projects with Dunn and Harreld Construction.  Such as the VA Medical Hospital, Birmingham Civic Center and the Jackson Post Office. He also worked on the Design and Construction team with The Lake Pontchatrain Causeway.

After retirement from this career he began a commercial cabinet business with his son in their garage in Brandon, MS in 1989.

They successfully grew the business and then moved it to the family land in Brookhaven in 1993 where they built their father & son shop to a large-scale millwork, which later Jack would retire from and his son Anthony would turn their small cabinet/mill work business into a world wide production and development center for Primos Hunting Calls.

He was an avid Outdoorsman and was a Missionary with the Native Americans and guest speaker within numerous churches.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and sister, Barbara Ann Foster.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Anthony Foster and wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Addyson Grace Foster and Colton Ray Foster; sister, Martha Ann Guynes and husband, Ervin; along with nephew, Jason Guynes and niece, Jennifer Guynes; also several great nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all that loved him.

Memorials can be made to Harmony Baptist Church in his memory.

Rebecca Kay "Becky" Allen

 

Visitation  9:00-11:00 am Friday, March 31, at Riverwood with service to follow at 11:00 am and burial at Cold Springs Church of Christ Cemetery.

Ms. Allen, 71, of Smithdale, died March 27, 2023, at Southwest Regional Medical Center, in McComb, MS. She was born March 1, 1952, to James Aubrey Teutsch and Noetta Marie Keith Teutsch. Becky worked as a caregiver. She was a very strong, independent, hard working woman who loved her friends and family. She loved collecting antiques and spending time outdoors. One of her most favorite things to do was to sit on her porch and drink her cup of coffee while watching the birds and listening to their beautiful songs. She loved her job; it gave her a great opportunity to care for many people. She also adored her fur baby, Lala. Becky will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jimmy John Allen; daughter, Cristyl Allen; great grandson, Jayden Rogers; and nephew, Bubba Albritton.

Those left to cherish her memory are, her children, Missy Rogers and Rushia Farnell; brothers, Michael Teutsch and Danny Teutsch; sister in law, Leah Anslum; 12 grandchildren, Darlene Hennington, Destin Allen, Justin Rogers, Haleigh Allen, Cody Rogers, Tyler Allen, Gavin Allen, Ryan Farnell, Jamie Farnell, Jeffery Rogers, Brayden Allen, Katlyn Carlisle; 18 great grandchildren; niece, Kyla Barcenas (Alex), daughter in law, Cathy Carlisle; and her fur baby, Lala, as well as other loving family members and friends.

Patsy Hutcherson Carr

The funeral for Patsy Hutcherson Carr will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Monticello Baptist Church, with burial in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday.

Mrs. Carr, 73, died March 19, 2023, at her residence in Monticello, MS. She was born in Brookhaven, MS October 7, 1949, to R.B. Hutcherson and Ida Ree Terrell Hutcherson. She was manager/bookkeeper with T.H. Perkins Furniture in Monticello and Monticello Hardwood, Inc. Mrs. Carr was a Master Gardener through Mississippi State University. She was also an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed going to car shows, and fishing. She was a long-time volunteer with the American Cancer Society and a member of Monticello Baptist Church, where she participated in many ministries, including the sanctuary choir and playing handbells, teaching Sunday School, and teaching children in VBS.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Randy Carr; her parents; sister, Ina Ree Neill and brother, Jack Hutcherson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cindy Carr Williamson and husband, Brian, and Mark Carr and wife, Lianne; brothers, Eugene Hutcherson (Sharon) and Bruce Hutcherson (Paula); and sister, Winnie Boyles. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Leanne Carr Crosby (Conner), Ashley Williamson Boyte (Dillon), Matt Carr, Taite Williamson, Jones Henry Carr, and Miles Bishop Carr.

Frances Marie Williams Smith

The funeral service for Mrs. Frances Marie Williams Smith will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 22, at Gum Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of service at Gum Grove.

Mrs. Smith, 76, of Bogue Chitto, died March 20, 2023, at her residence. She was born in Brookhaven August 16, 1946, to Rayford Williams and Ruby Bales Williams. She was a well known employee of The Cotton Patch Fabric Store, and enjoyed working with her sister there. She was always ready to cheer on her grandkids during the Bobcats sports seasons. She was also a member of Gum Grove Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil M. Smith; son, Lance Smith; brothers, Charles Williams and Joe Williams; sisters-in-law, Faye Wallace and Mayfred Summers; niece, Sondra Case Smith; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Burns.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rusti Magee (Johnny) and Dena Posey (Mike); brothers, Ellis Williams (Elaine), Roger Williams (Vicky); sisters, Betty Case (Gerald), Patsy Burns, and Mary Nell Clark (Ronnie); eight grandchildren, Ty Posey (Alanna), Mary Elizabeth Cunningham (Tyler), Samuel Posey (Stevie), Kylee Posey, Fayth Marie Magee, Neeli Magee, Noah Magee, Anna Marie Posey; and three great grandchildren, Maddux Cunningham, Jayden Cunningham, and James Lance Posey.

Martha Dean "Deanie" Smith

The funeral service for Martha Dean “Deanie” Smith will be 2 p.m., Monday, March 20, at Riverwood Family with burial in Heucks Retreat Cemetery. Visitation is from Noon until the time of the service at Riverwood.

Mrs. Smith, 65, of Brookhaven, died March 16, 2023, at Diversicare in Brookhaven. She was born June 12, 1957, in Port Arthur, TX, to Earl Dean Sawyer and Martha Womble. Mrs. Martha worked for many years at Easthaven Daycare. She would spend her free time assembling jigsaw puzzles and keeping her eyes open to find new treasures to add to her “pig” collection. Her most favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandkids. Mrs. Martha was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a caring and compassionate wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James W. Smith III and her mother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Wade Smith (Misty); daughter, T.C. Bowlin (Jeff); three brothers, Doug, Tommy, and Robbie and three sisters, Patricia, Susan, and Renea; five grandchildren, Kayleigh Smith, Khloe Smith, Christian Thomas, Danielle Thomas, and Tyler Thomas; and by four great grandchildren, Zayden, Sophie, Dustin, Jr., and A.J.
