Glynda Dianne Cutrer

Funeral services for Glynda Dianne Cutrer will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Fernwood Baptist Church, with burial in the Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation is from Noon until the time of service at Fernwood.

Mrs. Cutrer, 57, of Magnolia, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Wednesday evening, November 23,  2022, from her residence in Magnolia. She was born February 16, 1965, to Glynn E. Estess, Sr. and Lillian E. Love.

She worked at Corner Drug Store for 12 years. She then moved on to Beacham Memorial Hospital where she worked as a certified pharmacy tech for 22 years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved bragging about her children and grandchildren. She was loved by everyone that knew her and will be missed by all. She was best known as “Dia” or “Lady Dia”. Most of all, she loved spending every moment with the love of her life, Paul.

She is preceded in death by her father and her sister, Sandi G. Estess.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, William Paul Cutrer; her mother, Lillian E. Love; her children, Amanda Cutrer Reagan and husband, Josh and Richard Paul Cutrer and wife, Demi; brother, Glynn Elvin Estess, Jr. and wife, Jeannie; sister, Jinifer Estess Cooper and husband, Scotty; four grandchildren, Allei-Gayle Reagan, Will Reagan, Rylee Cutrer, and Dallan Cutrer; sister in law, Jackie Nobles brother in law, Rusty Cutrer and wife, Sandra; a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members; and many friends who were so dear to her heart.

The family will be forever thankful for the love, support, and excellent care we received from her Beacham Family, MS Cancer Center (Sonya Thibodeaux and Dr. Delrie), and Hospice Compassus (Ann Seago-Coney, Corey Morris, Rexanne Culpepper) and Dr. Luke Lampton.

Sherri Holt Kyzar

Mrs. Sherri Holt Kyzar, 67, of Ruth, Mississippi, passed away November 23, 2022. She was born in Jackson, MS, May 24, 1955, to Lester C. Holt and Sybil Cook Holt. She was active in the workforce, employed as secretary for  both Insurance and Gas and Oil Companies in Brookhaven. Her greatest joy was to be with her family. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds, traveling to garage sales, and collecting antiques. She will be greatly missed by all that loved her.

Mrs. Kyzar is preceded in death by her husband, James Glenn Kyzar; her parents; and her brother, Lester C. Holt, Jr.  

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jason Kyzar and wife, Kelsey and Justin Kyzar; two precious grandchildren, Kaitlyn Kyzar and Kasyn Kyzar; her mother-in-law, ML Kyzar Summers; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as other loving family members and friends.

Charlie R. Odom, Jr.

Services for Mr. Charlie R. Odom, Jr., of McCall Creek are 11:00 am, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Riverwood Family with visitation from 10:00 until the time of service. Burial at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Mr. Charlie R. Odom, Jr. was born on February 11, 1933, to Helen Louise Odom and Charlie R. Odom, Sr. in Dry Creek, MS during the depression of World War II. He went home to be with the Lord on November 22, 2022.

At the age of 12, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in Stein’s Creek. He was ordained as a deacon on October 24, 1965, at Riverside Baptist Church in Pascagoula, Ms. His membership is presently at New Hope Baptist Church in Meadville, MS. He served in every church where he was a member including the building and grounds committee and brotherhood ministry at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, MS.

Growing up on a cotton, corn and sugar cane farm and attending both Brandon Schools (6 yrs.) and Clinton schools (6 yrs.), his family moved to Camp Garraway to be caretakers of the property.

On September 1, 1952, Charlie moved to Pascagoula, MS where he began working at Ingalls Shipbuilding on the 5th of the same month. He began as an apprentice in the Pipe Department and retired after 47 years of as a Pipe Superintendent.

Marrying the love of his life on March 6, 1953, JoEllen Harrison, the two of them enjoyed 68 of marriage until her passing on January 19, 2022.

His family cherishes the way he genuinely loved the Lord and loved them. His hobbies included an amazing ability to build and create anything out of wood and he would build many things for many people. He loved to fish and enjoyed taking his family fishing. He was an impeccable gardener and enjoyed planning and harvesting.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie R. Odom, Sr., and Helen Louise Odom; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles Harrison and Willie Greer Harrison; two brothers-in-law, Charles Harrison, Jr. and Donnie Harrison; his two brothers, John David Odom and Sydney Odom; his grandson Daniel Bradley; and his wife of 68 years, JoEllen Odom.

Mr. Odom is survived by his six daughters, Tammy (Tom) Mims, Penny (Donnie) Bradley, Kathy (Greg) Barker, Cindy (Jimmy) Henry, Debby (Bo) McMillian, and Christy (Shane) Cockrell. His sister, Helon (L.C.) Thomas; four sisters-in-laws, Nancy Odom, Pricilla de Gafferelly, Doris Finley (Frank), and Jamie Hudson (Mike); 16 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren whom he treasured and loved dearly. To God be the Glory Great Things He Has Done!

Mrs. Karlee Gilbert, RN and Ms. Virginia and Ms. Angie, CNA’s were a blessing to our family with both our parents being in their tender care. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Dorothy Ann Gammill

Funeral service for Dorothy Ann Gammill will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, November 22, at O’Zion Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Gammill, 83, of Smithdale, MS, passed away November 21, 2022, in Meadville, MS. She was born in Natchez, August 12, 1939. She worked 10 years as Ministry Assistant in the Franklin Baptist Association, and played piano at O’Zion Baptist Church, for 25 years. She enjoyed sewing, shopping, and being with her family. Mrs. Gammill will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Winfred Gammill; parents, C.O. McCall and Pearline Prather McCall; and her sister, Bobbye Nell Graves.

Those who are left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gwen Shelley and husband, Paul, Nanette Harris and husband, Earl, and Lisa Shelley and husband, Michael; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.

Camie Brianna Allred

The funeral service for Camie Brianna Allred, will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Riverwood Family with burial in the Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation is 5:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, at Riverwood. Ms. Allred, 25, of McComb, passed from this life

November 15, 2022. She was born June 25, 1997, in Brookhaven, to Tony Evan Allred and Amanda Adams Cline. She was in the

 top three of her graduating class at Mississippi Challenge Academy. Her greatest accomplishment in life was her babies.

She loved riding horses or just driving around listening to loud music. She loved to make hair bows and kept Tonie in beautiful accessories! She would also volunteer to do hair and makeup on

all young ladies but enjoyed a good coon hunt and mud riding with her uncle John too. She was also an animal lover from

her goats to her dog Mia, who was her pride and joy.  In true girl fashion, she was a collector of shoes!

 

Camie is preceded in death by her father, Tony Allred; grandmothers, Elaine Allred and Nan Adams; and grandfather, Earl Adams.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are, her boyfriend of five years, Brandon Dixon; children, Tonie Elaine Dixon and

Willie Glenn Townsend

A memorial gathering  for Willie Glenn Townsend will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, at East Lincoln Baptist Church. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mr. Townsend, 82, of Monticello, passed from this life November 18, 2022. He was born August 28, 1940. He lived and worked in Lincoln County as a surveyor/civil inspector until he retired. Mr. Townsend was a lifelong member of East Lincoln Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie & Lurline Townsend ; his brother, David Townsend; grandson, Cole Buchanan; great grandson, Stetson Padgett; brother-in-law, Donnie Geohegan; and nephew, Richard Geohegan.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Annie Townsend; children, Tod Townsend (Jennifer), Deirdre Buchanan (Bubba), and Shawna Padgett (Woody); brothers, Charles Townsend (Florence), Jimmy Townsend (Debbie); sister, Karen Geohegan and sister-in-law, Lavenia Townsend. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jacob Waldrop (Alisha), Ryan Welther (Tiffany), Michael Waldrop (Amber Dillon), Bret Padgett (Demy), Hanna Reid (Ryan Magee), Hope Gatlin (Eli), Megan Skinner (Kaleb), Jade Padgett (Keith McKigney), and Zackary Townsend; nine great great grandchildren; and his two favorite nurses, Monica of Silver Cross and CC of St. Luke. He is also survived by other loving family members and friends.

Asa Dalton Hardison

Services for Mr. Asa Dalton Hardison of Monticello are 2:00pm Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Bethel Baptist Church in Monticello with visitation from 12:00 until the time of the service. Burial will be at the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Asa Dalton Hardison, 73, passed away November 17, 2022. He was born November 25, 1948, to the late James Hardison and Annie Lee Barber Hardison.

He served his country in the United States Army, 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Hardison was a Senior Vice President for Georgia Pacific. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf and tennis.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Ruth G. Hardison.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Casey Pevey and husband, Jason and their children, Sydney Ruth Pevey and Abbey Lee Pevey; and Jamie Nicole Hardison; sisters, Frances Hardison, Lilian Dunlow, Jeanette Griffin, Sue Leggett: and brother, James Cecil Hardison. He is also survived by other family members and friends.

He will be dearly missed by all that loved him.

Vicki Lynn Thompson Greer

The funeral service for Vicki Lynn Thompson Greer will be 10 a.m., Saturday, November 19, at Riverwood Family. Visitation will from 5 - 8 p.m., Friday, November 18 at Riverwood.

Mrs. Greer, 62, of Bogue Chitto, passed from this life, November 14, 2022. She was born in Lakeland, FL, September 25, 1960, to Thomas Frank Thompson and Dena Ruth White Thompson. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, always looking out for the good of her family and caring for their needs. She liked to bake and share her goods with others. The greatest love she had was for her family, and she enjoyed every moment spent with them. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bryan Thompson; and by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 40 years, William Glynn Greer; children, Thomas Greer and wife, Maranda, Candace Adams and husband Dwayne; brothers, Danny Thompson and wife, Shelley and their children, Aarron and Chelsey and their families, Steven Thompson and his daughter, Amanda; sisters, Patricia Allen and husband, Burl and their family, and Denise Baldwin; five grandchildren, Cody Adams, Chloe Adams, Braxton Greer, Chance Greer, and Austin Greer; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved very much, as well as other loving family members and friends.

Gerald Wayne Reid

A memorial service will be held for Gerald Wayne Reid, 4 p.m., Tuesday, November 15, at Divide Memorial Methodist Protestant Church.

Mr. Reid, 75, of Monticello, passed from this life November 11, 2022. He was born January 25, 1947, to G.W. Reid and Frances Mildred Carney Reid. Mr. Reid proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Gerald spent years working in the trucking industry and retired from working for Lawrence County District 3.

Gerald had a love for hunting and fishing, he spent many hours enjoying the outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He was a kindhearted man who enjoyed caring and providing for others, especially friends and family. Gerald will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Joe Reid; grandson, Dillon Reid; brothers, Billy Don Reid, Tony Reid, and Charles Reid; and nephew, Lance Reid.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Pam Reid; children, Jesse Reid and wife, Heather of Monticello, Chad Furr of Greenville, and Tina Page of Petal; three grandchildren, Archie Reid, Kyle Reid (Reagan), and Kayla Doby (Dillon); a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Allison Eileen Newell Francis

Funeral service for Allison Eileen Newell Francis will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, at Riverwood Family Funeral Service, with interment in the Newell Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday evening at Riverwood and will resume Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Ms. Francis, 49, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed away on November 12, 2022. Allison was born on October 22, 1973, to John E. Newell, Jr. and the late Frances Lanelle Sykes Newell. She attended Bogue Chitto Assembly of God and Church of the Way where she had a host of Christian friends who loved on her in her time of deepest need. She has worked as a teacher assistant at Mamie Martin Elementary School since 2000 and was still employed there upon her death. She loved working with the children each day and talked of her co-workers with much gratitude for their genuine love and friendship toward her. Her life's greatest pleasure and memory was knowing she gave her all to her family through her enduring dedication, unconditional love, and sacrificial giving of herself throughout all their years in all of life's circumstances.

Preceding her in death is her loving, Christian mother, Frances Lanelle Sykes Newell. Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 43:2 "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you...”

Those left to cherish her precious memory are her father, John E. “Johnny” Newell, Jr.; husband of 32 years, Charles M. Francis Jr.; two children, Brittany Francis Tanksley and Daniel Francis ; her loving sister, Deidre Michelle Newell Case and brother-in-law, Patrick Clayton Case; her
son-in-law, Roman Tanksley; four precious grandchildren Blake, Brantley, Zayne, and Mila whom she loved dearly; and a host of loving friends, co-workers, and precious children.

She should best be remembered for her love of and faith in Jesus Christ and her enduring love for her family.
