Services for Mr. Willie “Bill” Noel Oberschmidt are 11:00 am, Monday, August 28, 2023, at Riverwood Family with visitation from 9:00 until the time of service.

Interment will be at Heucks Retreat Baptist Church Cemetery.

Willie “Bill” Noel Oberschmidt, 93, passed away August 23, 2023, at his home.

He was born April 15, 1930, to the late Roy Scott Oberschmidt and Anita Day Oberschmidt.

Mr. Bill was a member of Heucks Retreat Baptist Church. He was a Dairy Farmer and an avid hunter and fisherman and was a catcher and 3rd base baseball player for St. Louis Cardinals Minor League.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Dorothy Nell Sproles Oberschmidt and brother, Roy Oberschmidt.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, John S. Oberschmidt and wife, Kathleen, Billy Oberschmidt and wife, Sandy, Brenda O. Webber and husband, Bo and Dwayne Oberschmidt and wife, Sarah and brother, Mike Oberschmidt.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. He will be missed by all that loved him.

Memorials can be made to Heucks Retreat Baptist Church or Hospice Ministries.

    I am sorry about the loss of your Dad. He was a fine man and your mom was a fine woman as reflected in each of you.
    I had a unplanned doctor visit Monday and that kept me from being at the funeral.

    I am so sorry for the loss of your daddy , Mr. Bill. He was a good man. I thought the world of him. I can only imagine his face when he saw Dorothy Nell and his mother and daddy ! So many loved ones he had missed. God bless all of you during this sad time.

    I loved growing up near Mr Bill, Mrs Dorothy Nell, Mr Scott and Mrs Anita. Those were the best days of my life and I learned about goodness from this family. Mr Bill was a man of few words so he married a conversationalist. I’ll forever be grateful to this family for the influence they had on me. God bless the family.
