Kenneth Earl Prather

A memorial gathering for Mr. Kenneth Earl Prather of Bogue Chitto will be at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Riverwood Family with visitation from 1:00 until the time of service.

Mr. Kenneth Earl Prather, 76, passed away on January 31, 2025, at his home in Bogue Chitto. He was born on January 22, 1949, to the late Walter Prather and Analo White Prather.

Mr. Prather worked in the oilfield and was a Pleasant Hill Baptist Church member.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved piddling. He was a devoted Christian who always put God first and then his family, taking care of them and spending time with them.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers and six sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Brenda Prather; children, Bradley Prather (Sherry) Brandy Jones (Nathan) and Billy “Peanut” Prather and (Lyndsay) “Bae Bae”; brothers, Hugh V. Prather and David Prather; sister, Lenora Rials; along with his seven grandchildren, Tay Prather, Skylar Prather, Emily Galindo, Christian Jones, Natalie Jones, Karter Prather and Conner Jones and great-granddaughter, Olivia Galindo and two great-grandsons on the way. He is also survived by his lifelong friend, Gary Boutwell. We will always love and miss you, Pops.

The family would like to thank the Ardens Hospice and caregiver, Kabrina Rhodes

for their care and devotion to Mr. Prather’s care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.

My deepest condolences and my prayers go out to you, Brenda and the rest of the Prather family... We all grew up together at Enterprise... Kenny was a very good man and one I always considered a good friend also... He was quiet and took care of his own business and nobody else's... I always looked up to him in school because Kenny was someone you didn't mess with... I never saw him in a fight because I doubt he very seldom ever had to fight anyone who knew him because he was a giant of a man in each and every way... Which also means he always had a giant heart to go with his no nonsense personality... I am that way today because of good men like Kenneth E. Prather... He will be surely and sorely missed by all who ever knew him... Godspeed, Brother... Until we meet again on Heaven's bright shore... Roger sends his prayers and condolences out to the family also... He and Kenny were lifetime friends...
