My heart breaks at the passing of Mr. Gene! He was the kindest tough guy I've ever known. A man who cherished his wife and children. I know Jeff was waiting on him with open arms! I will forever remember the days he was our guard at SSA with love and laughter! May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way!

Shirley and family. I was so sorry to hear of Gene’s passing. I have good memories of y’all when we lived down road from y’all in Natchez. I remember playing music with Gene a few times and remember all those Johnny Cash songs he knew. (Every Word of them). Y’all will be in our prayers during this difficult time. Ken & Nancy Barfoot.

    Helen & Girls:
So very sorry to hear that my buddy Mr. Gene passed away. He was a great man and will be missed by everyone who knew him! I remember the time that I kept the kids and he would put a belt on the fridge &.tell me if I had any trouble out of the kids there was the belt. Never had a
problem out of them! He was definitely one of a
kind. I hope that there will be some spaghetti at the Pearly Gates waiting on him. He is at peace talking with his mom & dad. I will be praying for ya'll during this time & ask God to give all of you peace during this time!

I was just about 11 or 12 when I met Gene Spence. As a co-worker of my brother, Dwayne, Gene was my faborite of Dwayne's friends. I'll never forget him taking to the piano and playing and singing A Whole Lot of Shaking Going On as well as Jerry Lee Lewis! Funny and fun, and Im sure his family will miss him. My heartfelt condolences to you all.
